Fifty Consecutive Years of MARKER INNOVATION.

In 1952, skiing pioneer and innovator Hannes Marker founded the Marker ski binding company and introduced the first commercially successful releasable ski binding. What followed over the years were many changes, evolutions and market firsts; such as the Simplex Toe; Rotomat Heel; Active AFD; Stainless steel AFD; Mechanically Operating Toe Cups; Twincam; Full Spectrum; Biometric; and revolutionary performance interface systems like Selective Control and new Piston Control.

HANNES MARKER

After World War ll, Hannes Marker was working as a journalist and ski instructor when he suffered a bad skiing accident. During recuperation Hannes spent his time inventing ways to build a releasable ski binding.

IN THE BEGINNING

In 1952, the dream payed off and Duplex releasable binding was born.


SIMPLEX TOE

The Simplex Toe followed in 1953 and went on to become the best selling single model of ski bindings ever - with sales of over 5.5 million pairs.
